Metro Nashville

Welcome, Metro Nashville Employees!!

Metro Nashville and Middle Tennessee State University have enjoyed a long relationship.  Since the fall of 2008, MTSU, through University College, has supported the Metro Management Institute, providing certificates for Institute graduates who complete the 32 hour training program.

The training received by Metro Nashville Management Institute students can earn those students 3 upper division credit hours through MTSU’s Prior Learning Assessment process.  These credits can be applied toward all Adult Degree Completion Program degrees: Liberal Studies, Liberal Studies Applied Leadership, and Professional Studies.

Students may also earn 3.2 CEUs of 32 CPEs for the training to satisfy Metro Nashville continuing education requirements.

Metro Police Academy

In March of 2015, MTSU and Metro Police Academy signed a Memorandum of Agreement stating that eligible MTSU students could earn 10 lower division and 26 upper division credits through MTSU’s Prior Learning Assessment process upon successfully completing Metro’s 886 hour Police Training Academy.  This credit may be applied to any of MTSU’s Adult Degree Completion programs.
