Brakes and Gears ... what am I doing? Wednesday, Oct. 16, 4 p.m.
So your brakes aren't doing the job? Your gears keep skipping?
Well, this FREE clinic will teach you how to maintain and adjust
your brakes and gears. We will cover how to stop your gears from
skipping or jumping, how to change out brake pads, and how to
maintain good stopping power.
Clinic is held in Campus Rec's Outdoor Equipment Rental Bike Shop.
Clinic is free but you must sign up in advance by calling 898-2104 or coming by the
Campus Recreation Office, Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Campus Safety Rides!
Beginner Bike Rides
This ride is focused on those who want to start exercising via riding the road. We
will ride about an hour from the Campus Recreation Bike Shop. We will help you focus
on pace, passing, and strategy for riding hills. In addition, we will talk about safety
and preparation. This ride will leave the shop beginning Oct. 22 at 5 p.m.
Intermediate Bike Rides
This ride will be for those who have a good fitness level, but want to extend their
distance on the bike. We will ride a 30-mile loop from the Bike Shop. We attack numerous
hills and discuss strategies for nutrition, pace and efficiency. This ride will take
approximately 2-hours and will leave the shop beginning Oct. 17 at 4 p.m.
The Bike Shop is located in the rear of Campus Recreation's Outdoor Equipment Rental
area. The Bike Shop can be accessed from Blue Raider Drive by turning onto Homecoming
Circle and going past the Campus Pharmacy Drive-thru and turning into the back ramp
area of the facility.
