Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs

MSPS - Masters of Science in Professional Studies   Program. Middle Tennessee State University, in conjunction with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, is offering   the Master of Science in Professional Science (MS-PS) degree. The MS-PS program (commonly called Professional Science Masters or PSM) is a groundbreaking two-year master's degree in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines that equips students for work in public and private   business enterprises and in academia. This interdisciplinary program is a partnership among the College of Basic and Applied Sciences, College of Behavioral and Health Sciences, College of Liberal Arts, and the Jennings A. Jones College of Business. The goal is to enhance the interface between science and business by providing strong degrees which emphasize expertise in both of these areas.

MSE Ph.D. - The Mathematics and Science   Education (MSE) Ph.D. program is designed to prepare graduates for positions  in colleges and universities where they will conduct discipline-based educational research and prepare America's next generation of K-12 mathematics and science teachers, as well as for leadership positions in a variety of   educational settings. The Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics and Science Education has four available concentrations: Biological Education, Chemical Education, Interdisciplinary Science Education, and Mathematics Education..

COMS Ph.D. - MTSU is proud to announce a new Ph.D. in Computational Science (COMS). The COMS doctoral degree is a strong research-centered program administered by faculty from Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematical Sciences, and Physics and Astronomy. This program is designed to provide unique educational and research opportunities to solve complex problems using:

MOBI Ph.D. - The Molecular Biosciences Ph.D. Program is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on the study of biological problems at the molecular level using chemical, computational, mathematical, physical, and statistical approaches as well as conventional biological approaches. A number of faculty from the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematical Sciences, and Physics and Astronomy participate in  the program, which offers students a truly diverse education. Faculty participants are engaged in a variety of research areas:
