The Office of Research Compliance is responsible for implementing appropriate administrative oversight to assure that MTSU's policies and procedures designed for protecting the rights and welfare of human subjects are effectively applied in compliance with its Federal Wide Assurance with the Office for Human Research Protections.

The IRB reviews all research regarding human subjects.

Federal Wide Assurance ("FWA")

The FWA is a contract or agreement that establishes standards for human subjects research as approved by the Office for Human Research Protections ("OHRP"). It is the policy of the Institutional Review Board ("IRB") of Middle Tennessee State University to uphold its Assurance as filed with the OHRP. The FWA number of MTSU is: 00005331.
