MAT (Miller Analogies Test)

One lane on each side of Middle Tennessee Boulevard will be closed due to construction until July 2018.  Other entrances more accessible to use are Rutherford Boulevard, East Main Street, or Greenland Drive.  Printable maps/directions of the University and the Murfreesboro area can be found at

Anyone wishing to apply to a graduate school that accepts or requires the MAT as an admission examination can take the MAT. The MAT is computerized, and is administered by appointment only in Keathley University Center, room 107.

Visitor parking passes may be obtained by calling the Testing Services Office at 615-898-2863. Please note that these passes are used for Green parking spaces only.

There are 120 questions and the test is timed at 60 minutes. Score is based on the number of questions answered correctly. The graduate office of the school to attend can interpret scores.

Items required at testing appointment

You must present two valid (i.e., unexpired) forms of identification (ID).

  • Your primary form of ID must be government-issued and contain both your photograph and your signature.
      • Acceptable primary forms of ID (government-issued wit hphotograph and signature) include:
          • driver's license
          • government-issued identification card or passport
  • The second form of ID is not required to have your photograph or signature.
      • Acceptable secondary forms of ID (photograph and signature not required) include:
          • credit card
          • library card
          • utility bill with your name and address appearing exactly the same as on your primary form of ID

It is preferable that you know your address and you bring your social security card as the testing software requires the information.

An unofficial score report will be available after testing. Expect official MAT results within 2 to 3 weeks via U.S. mail. You may contact Pearson at 800-622-3231. Study materials may be obtained at various bookstores and also at and .

Visitors (Parking Passes)

Please call Testing Services (615-898-2863) to obtain a Visitor’s Parking Pass (preferable a week or more before test date to receive it in the mail).  Testing Services can provide a parking pass, if lost, forgotten, etc., another pass will constitute a $2 charge required at Parking and Transportation Services.

All visitors are requested to use parking meters or obtain a permit from the Parking and Transportation Services office at 1403 East Main Street or print a visitor pass at; visitor permits are $2 per day.

Please see parking notices for the latest changes in parking on campus. All legal parking areas are designated by signs, painted stripes, or other marks. Be sure to check the posted signs BEFORE you park your automobile. If it isn't marked, don't park!  For parking questions, visit Parking Services' website.

Additional Information

  • The cost per test is $80.00 plus a $3.50 online convenience fee.
  • This test can be retaken as many times as you want.
