Types of Gifts

Annual gifts are recurring, repeatable gifts that support the current operations of the University.

Fully Unrestricted gifts give MTSU flexibility and resources to address the most pressing current needs.

Designated Unrestricted gifts can be made to specific colleges or departments and provide an unrestricted source of funding for those areas.

Capital gifts support the construction costs of new and renovated buildings and facilities.

Gifts to the Endowment are invested in perpetuity by the MTSU Foundation. A portion of the investment return is spent on the designated project or program while the remainder is returned to the principal of the fund for future growth.

Planned Gifts are made through an individual or family estate. They can include insurance, bequests, and a variety of other instruments such as Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts.
