 Dr. Brickey is an associate professor with a B.S. in Interior Design from Virginia Tech and her M.S. (Interior Design) and Ph.D. (Human Sciences) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her professional certifications include: NCIDQ (2010), EDAC (2014), LEED GA (2015), and WELL AP (2017).

 Dr. Brickey is an associate professor with a B.S. in Interior Design from Virginia Tech and her M.S. (Interior Design) and Ph.D. (Human Sciences) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her professional certifications include: NCIDQ (2010), EDAC (2014), LEED GA (2015), and WELL AP (2017).

Dr. Brickey’s extensive professional background includes hospitality, retail, healthcare, education, corporate and residential interior design projects. In addition, she has worked in design manufacturing and human resource development work in private and public sectors. She specializes in design thinking and programming, and she is currently an advisor with the Institute for Patient Centered Design. Her university service includes numerous appointments including the Faculty Senate, Honors Council and the following committees of note: Faculty Senate Steering, 2017-2027 Academic Master Plan Steering & Quality, University Programming, and General Education during the redesign initiative. In 2014, she received the MTSU Foundation Faculty Creative Activity Award, the Tennessee IIDA Nashville Center Professional Member of the Year in 2016, and the Tennessee USGBC/IIDA Leadership in Sustainability Award in 2017.
