Biography

Laura Cochrane began teaching at MTSU in 2009. Dr. Cochrane teaches classes on medieval art, Renaissance art, Islamic art, book history, design history, and art history methodologies. She has also led study abroad courses in Istanbul. Dr. Cochrane has a degree in library science and has worked as a rare book librarian and archivist at various institutions, including Harvard, the University of Delaware, the Free Library in Philadelphia, and Princeton. Laura Cochrane began teaching at MTSU in 2009. Dr. Cochrane teaches classes on medieval art, Renaissance art, Islamic art, book history, design history, and art history methodologies. She has also led study abroad courses in Istanbul. Dr. Cochrane has a degree in library science and has worked as a rare book librarian and archivist at various institutions, including Harvard, the University of Delaware, the Free Library in Philadelphia, and Princeton. She continues her interest in rare books and medieval manuscripts and is investigating a new topic: stained glass and interior decorations in early-twentieth-century American synagogues.
