Biography

After a 26-year career in all aspects of commercial broadcasting,including station ownership and a stint with the ABC Network, Dr. Heinrich joined the faculty of Middle Tennessee State University in August 2001. After a 26-year career in all aspects of commercial broadcasting,including station ownership and a stint with the ABC Network, Dr. Heinrich joined the faculty of Middle Tennessee State University in August 2001. He specializes in media management and media law and also serves on the University Honors faculty, for which he was named outstanding faculty for 2011-12, and the Graduate faculty. Dr. Heinrich's research interests include the history of electronic media, sports and its impact on electronic media and broadcasting pioneers. He has been published in the Journal of Arizona History, Mandamorgen, American Journalism, Journalism History, Scientific Journals International, The Encyclopedia of the First Amendment and The Encyclopedia of the Fourth Amendment. His creative activity has garnered seven international awards including an "Award of Excellence" and two "Awards of Distinction" from the Communicator Awards; he was the winner of a "Gold" Marcom Creative Award and earned the "Gold Hermes Creative Award" from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. For the past several years, Dr. Heinrich has reported on games of interest in the National Football League as part of the Titans Radio Network's Production of "Game-Day."
