Biography

Dr. Tiffany Wilson holds a BA in Communication Studies and a BA in African American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Dr. Tiffany Wilson holds a BA in Communication Studies and a BA in African American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. From North Carolina A & T State University, she earned a MS in School Counseling and a PhD in Rehabilitation Counseling and Rehabilitation Counselor Education. She is a Licensed School Counselor, Licensed Career Development Coordinator, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, a Board Certified Tele-mental Health Provider, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Prior to joining the MTSU faculty, Dr. Wilson worked as a licensed professional school counselor and licensed career development coordinator in North Carolina. She also worked as a licensed clinical mental health counselor in various clinical settings in which she worked primarily with chidlren and adolescents who had experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, and adjustment issues. In 2017, Dr. Wilson joined the MTSU Professional Counseling Program and has served as the School Counseling Program Coordinator since 2019.

Since joining MTSU, Dr. Wilson has published and presented at several national and state conferences and provided numerous trainings and workshops on childhood trauma, minority students with disabilities, collaborative efforts within the school community, and healing trauma through healthy relationships. She currently serves as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, the editor of the International Journal of the Whole Child, and as the faculty advisor for the School Counselor Collaborative sponsored by the MTSU Center for Educational Media. In partnership with the Tennessee Department of Education, Dr. Wilson serves on the School Counselor Advisory Council, the Mental Health Collaborative Advisory Council, and as a consultant on the Project RAISE Grant which seeks to fund school based mental health positions in rural school districts in Tennessee. She also serves as an executive board member for the Tennessee School Counselor Association (TSCA) and is an active member of the Amerian School Counseling Association (ASCA) and the American Counseling ASsociation (ACA). In 2021, Dr. Wilson received the Dr. Charles Thompson Counselor Educator Award from the Tennessee Counseling Association (TCA).
