The Building Blocks of Economics Webinar Series

This webinar series, which is conducted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta – Nashville Branch and Middle Tennessee State University Center for Economic Education, is designed to help current and future teachers of economics gain the foundational knowledge to become more effective teachers of the high school economics course. Each webinar will focus on increasing content knowledge and sharing lessons and resources related to the topic. Additionally, the economic content will help educators prepare for the economics Praxis exam.

As a special incentive, Tennessee educators who participate in 2 of the 3 webinars within the series will receive the lessons and related materials in a spiral bound notebook plus additional supplemental classroom resources (economic flash cards, flash drive with all materials, etc.).

Spring Series:

1) February 11, 2013 – Gross Domestic Product (GDP)

2) March 11, 2013– Consumer Price Index (CPI)

3) April 15, 2013 – Employment and Unemployment

To allow educators on both Eastern and Central times to participate in the one-hour webinars, the programs will be offered twice on each of the days: 2:30-3:30 CT (3:30-4:30 ET) or 3:30-4:30 CT (4:30-5:30 ET). While educators are encouraged to attend multiple sessions in the series, single webinars can be attended.
