Education

One of FIRE's goals in education is to promote academic quality through the support and development of Forensic Science Bachelor's and Master's degree programs on campus. FIRE strives to assist in the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that will assist the faculty in providing our students a quality forensic education and the opportunity to meet internationally recognized forensic scientists. Forensic science is applicable to many academic fields at MTSU—including biology, chemistry, criminal justice, anthropology, and computer science—making the building of a forensic program more an exciting challenge than a chore. A second educational goal is to provide forensic scientists and law enforcement personnel throughout Tennessee and beyond pertinent forensic training from recognized subject matter experts. These workshops incorporate cutting edge technology and are offered in a traditional classroom setting or online.
