Robert J Pondillo was a professor at Middle Tennessee State University from 2000 to 2014. In 2012, he produced a short film called “Miracles at Honey Bee Hill” which sparked controversy because of the film’s topic of gay marriage.

Biographical Note

Robert J Pondillo was a professor of Media History and American Culture at MTSU from 2000-2014. Before coming to the University, he worked in the media industry for over 30 years, during which he won 4 Emmy Awards for television writing and producing. For his work in the industry, he was inducted into the Radio and Television Broadcasters Hall of Fame in Akron, Ohio in 2002. His research interests include American media censorship, the interplay of news on American democracy, and issues of media and religion. He has written the books Censorship's Golden Age: The Secret Life of NBC-TV's Stockton Helffrich and America's First Network Television Censor, American Media and Social Institutions – A Reader.
