Freshman Summer Institute
The Scholars Academy Freshman Summer Institute is a five-week residential program
designed to serve as a bridge to help students transition from high school to college.
This year's program will be held July 6 - August 9, 2014. Students are accepted to the Scholars Academy Freshman Summer Institute based on
a combination of several factors including, but not limited to: high school GPA, ACT/SAT
test scores, a completed application, references, a personal interview, and an evaluation
of other variables such as high school involvement and community service. Students
participating in the program are housed on the MTSU campus for the duration of the
Summer Institute, attend two freshman-level courses, and take part in team-building
exercises, leadership training, the summer reading program, and service learning projects.
Students who accept an invitation to participate in the program are required to pay
a $50 non-reimbursable program fee.
If you are interested in being considered for this opportunity, please complete the
2014 Freshman Summer Institute Application online. Or, if you prefer, you can click here to print the application first and then complete it by hand. The deadline for submission has been extended from March 28, 2014 to May 20, 2014.
