Information Technology Division

ITD Opportunities

Opportunities offered by the Information Technology Division (ITD) include Graduate Assistantships and Faculty Grants/Fellowships.

ITD job openings are listed by MTSU's Human Resource Services office.

Graduate assistantships

A graduate assistant must be enrolled in a graduate degree program and registered for a minimum of six (6) semester hours of graduate work each semester.

Graduate Assistantship applications can be found in the back of MTSU's Graduate Catalog or picked up at the College of Graduate Studies main office in the Cope Administration Building.

Grants/Fellowships

Instructional Technologies Development Grants and Fellowships are provided through ITD. The grants award up to two credit hours of release time (for spring semesters) and the fellowships award a stipend of $3500 to faculty with projects related to the use of technology in the enhancement of instruction.

Applications and grant and fellowship guidelines are sent out three times per year to all full-time MTSU teaching faculty. The Instructional Technologies Development Committee determines the recipients of the grants.

Since the first Instructional Technologies Development Grant was awarded in 1994, faculty from all five academic colleges and developmental studies have used release time to develop projects including web sites, interactive multimedia applications, and electronic presentations. The MTSU Instructional Technology Faculty Showcase details these faculty and their projects. A list of past recipients listed by semester is also available.

For assistance with finding funding sources and applying for external grants contact MTSU's Office of Sponsored Programs.
