I'm one! Clean Campus Crew
Hi, I'm Nicole Poag-Wilson, a sophomore
entrepreneurship major from Culleoka, and I'm One! I'm
a member of the Clean Campus
Crew.
As part of the Tennessee's Best program The Clean Campus Crew
students will walk selected areas on campus helping to pick up
litter and removing signs that are posted on lampposts, trees and
other areas not approved for signage. We were selected for the team
when we responded to a request from the Financial Aid office asking
students who had work-study scholarships if they wanted to be part
of the Clean Campus Crew. A big reason I am doing this is because I
care about our environment. I want to make people aware of how nice
our campus is and how easily we students can help keep it that way.
Simply by participating in this program, I hope to encourage other
students to do their part to keep our campus clean and help protect
our environment. Every little bit helps, so why not dispose of
trash properly?
Our campus is pretty clean, but we can make it better with this new
program. When others see us out there, hopefully they will think
twice before dropping a plastic bottle on the lawn or leaving
cigarette butts on the sidewalks. There are plenty of trash cans
and recycling bins on campus, all it takes is walking a few extra
steps.
I'd really like to get more people involved in this campus
beautification program. The more people we get out here, the more
everyone will be aware of the concerted effort being made to keep
campus looking great. The more people are aware, the more likely
they will be to do their part.
I hope to see you out there! Join our efforts to help keep
MTSU's campus clean. You can be one, too—an honorary
member of the Clean Campus Crew!
