Meet Iris Montes

A True Blue Senior in the Dept. of Media Arts, Iris Montes wants to burst into the world of media journalism and completely reinvent it. The Jacksonville, Fla., native believes that the media world today is too robotic and should focus more on connecting to human emotion. Iris says that one of the highlights of her life so far was teaching children at an elementary school on how to properly treat one another. A firm believer in the Bahá'í Faith, this media journalist seeks to break away from classic journalism in order to create media that is non-traditional and celebratory of diversities in this world. She aspires to complete this task by working for Univision and then tapping into entrepreneurship by owning her very own network/channel in the future. This drive for success is what will undoubtedly give her a voice in the real world, and we are so proud to have her as one of our own in the College of Media and Entertainment.
