Homeless Verification and Resources

Now that you have been accepted to MTSU, it is time to start looking more closely at your financial aid. After you completed your FAFSA appliacation, you should have received your Student Aid Report also known as a SAR. The SAR will give you some basic information about your eligibility for federal student aid and will also list your answers to questions on the FAFSA. It is very important that you review the SAR carefully and make sure that all information is correct as listed!

If there were any issues with your FAFSA application you may have a "rejected SAR" or be selected for "verification". If either of those happen, make sure you check your MTSU email and PipelineMT account regularly for any unsatisified requirements.

In the event your FAFSA application resulted in a "rejected SAR", you may have been be flagged by the Department of Educaiton for further review. If you selected yes to being homeless or at-risk of homelessness on your FAFSA, you will need to speak directly with MT One Stop to complete the verification process or address your rejected SAR .

Students must complete the form below and provide any requested supporting documentation. This documentation will vary depending on situation. Categories are outlined on the form, but contact MT One Stop if you have questions.

A Homeless Verification Request must be reviewed and given a decision (whether approved or denied) within a federally required timeline of 60 days from the date the request was submitted. Documentation not received by the federally required deadline will be denied.  A student that is denied because of this timing requirement can complete a new request to resume the process where they left off.

Documents for the Homeless Verification Form can be brought in person, mailed or submitted to MT One Stop Dropbox using the information below:
