Blue Raider women's golf, led by 11th-year head coach Chris Adams, was recognized for the award which is based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rates. It marks the fifth straight year the women's golf program has earned the recognition. The Blue Raiders have a perfect score of 1000.

Baseball, led by head coach Jim McGuire, is being recognized for the first time after compiling an impressive score of 996. In 2015-16 they registered a 1008 and had a 1000 in 2013-14.

Volleyball was also honored for the first time with a perfect score of 1000. Head Coach Chuck Crawford's program had a score of 1020 in 2013-14, a 1000 in 2014-15 and will have a 1000 for 2016-17.

These awards are given each year to teams scoring in the top 10 percent in their respective sport with their APRs.

"This is a terrific honor for our student-athletes and athletic department," Director of Athletics Chris Massaro said. "It is a testament to the hard work our student-athletes put in, as well as the time and energy that our Student-Athlete Enhancement Center staff commits to their academics."

The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester or quarter by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. The APR includes eligibility, retention, and graduation in the calculation and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport.
