We-Haul Move In Days
The Office of Student Organizations & Service will once again coordinate volunteers
who are interested in helping with new student move in. We Haul will take place on
Friday, August 24th and Saturday, August 25th from 10:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Student organizations
and their guests that are interested in volunteering their time to help new students
move into the residence halls are required to check-in at the "We Haul" tent that
will be located behind Cope Administration Bldg in Walnut Grove. We Haul tent will
open at10:30 AM for volunteers to check-in and will remain open until approximately
5 PM each day. We Haul will focus on the residence halls in the Walnut Grove area
(Monohan Complex, Lyon Complex, Rutledge Hall, Smith Hall Area) and the Corlew/Cummings
- All volunteers must register at the We-Hall Tent.
- All volunteers must wear the VOLUNTEER button.
- No tents of any kind are allowed during We-Haul. The University will provide tents
for necessary programs happening during this time frame.
- NO food/water/drinks of any kind shall be distributed during this event. FREE Food
is available at the We Haul Tent for everyone. You will be asked to leave campus immediately
if you are not following policy.
- DO NOT bring flyers, pamphlets, brochures, etc. to hand out during this time. (This
becomes trash!) You are encouraged to wear shirts, hats, etc. to represent your organization.
- Residence Hall Lobby’s should only be accessed when you are moving a student into
their room. Any refreshment’s or water available in the lobby’s are not for volunteers.
This is NOT hand out space.
- If you are found hanging out in the front of the residence halls not assisting those
moving and/or you are blocking those moving, a University Staff member will ask you
Please remember, WE HAUL is meant to allow a smooth move in process for all of our
on-campus residences. If you are not contributing to that smooth process, you will
be asked to leave immediately. Let’s welcome our new and returning students to MTSU
as TRUE BLUE!
Are you looking for volunteer opportunities? The annual Volunteer Fair is set for Tuesday, September 4, 2012. The Volunteer Fair will take place from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM in the courtyard in front of the Keathley University Center.
The purpose of the Volunteer Fair is to provide information to the MTSU community about volunteer opportunities. Many students arrive on campus not knowing how to become involved in service. The fair provides an opportunity for offices and departments to distribute information about their opportunities.
If your organization provides volunteer opportunities to students and wishes to participate, please email Hailey Horton at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your table space for the fair. See you there!
Student Organization Fair
Come out and recruit new students for your organization on the Knoll! The Student Organization Fair will take place Wednesday, September 5th from 10am-2pm on the KUC Knoll. This event is open to all active clubs and organizations who have updated through MyMT. Organizations are welcome to set up displays, distribute literature, and meet and answer questions for students wishing to know more information. Each organization wishing to participate will need to contact the Office of Student Organizations and Service at 898-5812 or email@example.com to reserve a spot no later than Wednesday, August 29th.
