Muslim Students Association

Muslim Students Association (MSA) is a registered student organization at Middle Tennessee State University that provides an environment where Muslim students from all different regions and backgrounds can come together. It is the goal of MSA to educate Muslims and non-Muslims about Islam through a variety of activities and events. In the process, MSA is also aiming to clarify any misunderstandings or misconceptions about Islam and Muslims.

MSA is affiliated with the National Muslim Students Association of the U.S. and Canada, a national organization known for its many accomplishments and high recognition over the past forty years.

MSA has many goals and purposes that include:

  1. Promoting a better understanding of Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims at MTSU.
  2. Providing Information about Islam to all interested MTSU students, faculty and staff.
  3. Providing a support group for Muslim students on campus.
  4. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with other organizationsand associations inside the community of MTSU.
  5. Participating by all possible means in serving our school and maintaining a better environment for the students.

MSA elects its officers at the end of the spring semester of each academic year. The term of service is one year and all members of MSA have the right to run for offices. The following offices are officially assigned during each election:

  1. President
  2. Vice-President
  3. Secretary
Membership is open to all students, faculty, and staff of MTSU and their spouses. No membership dues are required. However, an application form must be filled in. The members of MSA meet in a regular base every other week.
