2023 Nashville Health Care Council Survey
The Business and Economic Research Center at Middle Tennessee State University, in
partnership with Nashville Health Care Council, is conducting a comprehensive study
of the economic impact of Nashville's health care industry. This online member survey
is a critical piece of the study. The survey will remain open until May 19, 2023.
2023 COE-URP Scholars Program

Committee is launching a new Scholars Program to assist students in their academic and professional development.
The COE-URP Scholars Program is a nine-month research and engagement program for undergraduate students at Middle Tennessee State University designed to bring students, professors and community members together to address pressing urban and regional concerns through academic research. Read More
2022 MTSU Economic Impact on Tennessee
MTSU is responsible for more than $1.42 billion and almost 11,500 jobs in Tennessee in 2021, according to a recent study by the Business and Economic Research Center. The BERC study found the university is Murfreesboro’s second largest employer with 2,270 local jobs and generates $143.6 million in local, state and federal tax revenue, according to an MTSU news release, an increase of 63% from five years ago.

Tennessee Trade Report - Q4 2022: Last quarter’s export numbers were, on the surface, nothing to brag about. At $9.073
billion, Tennessee exports were off 4.25 percent from the 4th quarter of 2021. This
was far below the national 8.4 percent gain in exports and placed Tennessee a lowly
41st among all U.S. states. However, this is misleading. In last year’s 4th quarter,
the state shipped covid vaccines worth just over a combined $1 billion to 32 different
