MT Nutrition Team

The purpose of the MT Nutrition Team is to develop and deliver nutrition education programs to students and faculty, making an impact on overall campus health. Through programs and presentations, we provide the tools for students and faculty to build healthy habits for life.

Do you want to learn how to choose the healthiest, most budget-friendly items at the grocery store? Would you like to learn how to prepare easy, quick, and healthy meals? If yes, join NHC Dietic Interns, MTSU Graduate and Dietetic students for a free grocery store tour and cooking class 5:30-7:00 pm on one of the dates listed below. Study Description & Purpose: The purpose of this nutrition education project is to provide MTSU students with an interactive
shopping and cooking experience. We will be collecting information about your experience, including skills learned and your level of competence follwing the intervention.

Target Population: Any MTSU student is eligible to participate.

Risk & Benefits: This project includes two parts. One is a grocery store tour and one is a cooking class at a mobile kitchen. The only potential discomfort, you may encounter, may be standing for an hour or longer to take part in the tour and the cooking class. The
tour and the cooking class are each 1 1/2 hours in length for a total of 3 hours time. You would be attending the
grocery store tour and cooking class on a Monday and Thursday of the same week.

Additional Information: You will receive a shopping bag, measuring cups, recipes, and be eligible to enter in a drawing
for door prizes.
