January 2025 Updates

As of January 2, 2025 the membership pricing and structure is updated. The addition of family members has also been changed and can be found in the Add-On Memberships for Additional Family Members section.

Current membership will be carried out until their expiration date. Membership renewals will then transition to the new structure and pricing. Information on the changes and any actions needed will be included in the renewal reminder email, sent shortly before your membership expires.

Memberships

We offer several different options for memberships. MTSU Students and full-time Faculty & Staff have free memberships that are automatically activated. Semester-based memberships are available for eligible individuals. If you are interested in a membership, see the Pricing and Details below.

Please note that some programs and services require an active membership, while others do not. Visit each program/service webpage or contact Campus Rec for details.

Eligibility

MTSU Students enrolled in classes automatically have a free membership as a part of the Recreation Fee paid with tuition.

How to Obtain

No action is needed. Memberships are activated after the tuition payment deadline and automatically applied.

Access

Your BlueID is required to access the Rec Center.

Eligibility

MTSU Students not enrolled in Summer courses (between being enrolled in Spring and Fall semesters) will need to purchase a Summer Student Membership.

The $25.00 cost covers the Recreation Fee that is paid by students enrolled in summer classes.

How to Obtain
  • Visit the Membership Office at the Rec Center
  • Bring your BlueID and payment (card, cash, or check)
Access

Your BlueID is required to access the Rec Center. Memberships are activated at the time of purchase.

Eligibility

MTSU Faculty & Staff that are full-time automatically have a free membership as a part of the University Benefits package, and no action is needed. Memberships are activated once the hiring process is completed and stay active through the duration of employment.

How to Obtain

No action is needed. Memberships are activated once the hiring process is complete and automatically applied.

Access

Your BlueID is required to access the Rec Center.

Eligibility

MTSU Faculty & Staff that are in adjunct positions are eligible to purchase a membership. Memberships can be purchased once the hiring process is completed and will remain active so long as membership payments are made and the individual remains an active MTSU employee.

  • Visit the Membership Office at the Rec Center
  • Bring your BlueID and payment (card, cash, or check)
Access

Your BlueID is required to access the Rec Center. Memberships are activated at the time of purchase.

Eligibility

MTSU Faculty & Staff that have officially retired from the University have a free membership as a part of the University Retiree Benefits package, and no action is needed. Memberships do not have an expiration.

How to Obtain

No action is needed. Memberships are carried over from employment automatically.

Anyone who has previously enrolled and completed a course at MTSU is eligible to purchase a membership. Memberships can be purchased at any time and will remain active so long as membership payments are made.

How to Obtain
  • Visit the Membership Office at the Rec Center
  • Bring a photo ID and payment (card, cash, or check)
  • If you no longer have a BlueID, a Campus Rec Membership Card will be provided

Eligibility

Select MTSU affiliates are eligible to purchase a membership. Visit or contact the Membership Office in the Recreation Center to determine if you are eligible.

Memberships can be purchased at any time and will remain active so long as the affiliation relationship exists, the individual remains with the affiliated group, and membership payments are made.

  • Visit the Membership Office at the Rec Center
  • Bring a photo ID and payment (card, cash, or check)
  • Campus Rec Membership Card will be provided

Eligibility

Immediate family members (partners and/or dependents 25 years or younger) can be added to any of the above Individual Memberships. The Individual Membership must remain active for the additional family member to be active.

How to Obtain
  • Visit the Membership Office at the Rec Center
    • The person with the active Individual Membership and family members 16 and older being added both need to be present
  • Bring a photo ID for anyone 16 and older and payment (card, cash, or check)
  • The additional family member(s) will receive a Campus Rec Membership card required for entry
    • Family members 16 years and older will have their picture taken for the card
    • Those under 16 will not have their picture taken

Parking

MTSU Students, Faculty/Staff (full-time or adjunct), and Retirees

Visit Parking Services to obtain a parking permit for campus and view the parking map for their specific permit. Campus Rec cannot provide parking permits to current MTSU Students, Faculty, Staff, or Alumni.

Alumni, Affiliates, and Additional Family Members

A maximum of 2 parking permits will provided per Individual Membership. The license plate number(s) must be provided to receive the parking permit. The parking permit is valid for the length of the membership. Maps are available upon request for valid lots.

Membership Renewal

MTSU Students and Faculty/Staff (full-time)

Memberships do not require renewal if there is no change in eligibility status.

MTSU Students not taking Summer classes will need to obtain a Summer Student Membership.

Retirees

Memberships do not have an expiration date, so they are always valid.

Adjunct Faculty/Staff, Alumni, Affiliates, and Additional Family Members

An email will be sent prior to the expiration date with renewal instruction. This can be complete online for all except Additional Family Members added to MTSU Student Individual Membership (see next section).

Additional Family Members of MTSU Students

Additional Family Members that have joined an MTSU Student Individual Membership will need to visit the office in-person or call as the enrollment status of the student must be verified


Guest Passes

  • Members can have up to 2 guests per visit
  • The Member and guest must both be present to purchase the pass
  • Guests ages 16+ must provide a valid ID
  • Members and guest must follow all Guest Pass Policies

Rates:

  • Adults and children ages 16+: $7.00
  • Children ages 5-15: $5.00

How to purchase:

Monday-Friday: Visit the Membership Office during their open hours.
Saturday & Sunday: Passes will be sold from open until 1.5 hours before the facility closes. See the Front Desk to get a pass.


Lockers & Shower Towels

Locker Rental Options:

  • Day-Use
    • FREE to Campus Rec members
    • Locks provided for checkout to use on specified lockers in the Locker Rooms
    • Must be cleared out by the end of each day
  • Semester-long
    • Semester-based rentals (pricing below)
    • Includes shower towel rentals
    • Available in half or full sizes
    • Allows you to keep your belongings at the Rec stored away safely for a low price

Rates are the total cost for the entire length of the locker rental.

How to Rent:

Stop by the Equipment Desk (across from the stairs in the Rec Center Atrium) to check out a lock for a free day-use locker or select and pay for a semester-long locker rental.
