Student Leadership & Employment Opportunities

This site was created so that you can learn about the various student leadership and employment opportunities that are available through Campus Life!  With all these opportunities, you are bound to find something that tweaks your interest and will serve as a vehicle to further develop your leadership skills and be a great resume builder.

Positions will be added as they become available, so be sure to visit the site periodically if there isn’t anything that currently interests you.

Blue Elite

Blue Elite are campus visit leaders that showcase the beautiful MTSU campus to prospective students and their families during campus tours and recruitment events.  This is a fun and paid position.

Campus Recreation

Campus Recreation offers a fun working environment with flexible hours.  They have many paid positions and are always taking applications.

CUSTOMS

Develop your leadership skills and acclimate new undergraduate students to campus by becoming a Student Orientation Assistant (SOA).  SOAs work within the CUSTOMS office which also has clerical positions available to student.  Both are paid positions.

Fraternity & Sorority Life

Membership in a fraternity or sorority provides students with the opportunity to develop leadership skills through chapter leadership positions, event planning, and leadership development programs.

June Anderson Center for Women & Nontraditional Students

June Anderson Center information.

Pinnacle is MTSU’s chapter of the national Pinnacle Honor Society for nontraditional students, generally over the age of 25. Pinnacle Honor Society has opportunities for members to become active in the leadership as President, Vice-President, Social Media Director, & Secretary. Applications for these board positions are accepted in March and April before the next academic year begins.

MT Unions

MT Unions manages three Student Union facilities across campus. We have positions in our three service areas; operations, supporting the Campus Life Desk, Lost and Found, informational tabling, and regular organizational meetings; event services, working directly with guests and planning, managing, and execution events across our spaces; and technical services, supporting events and activities through the use of AV technology, setting up and operating, audio, lighting, and video. 

Housing & Residential Life

Housing & Residential Life offers positions with flexible hours, convenient on-campus work locations and the opportunity to be part of the Housing and Residential Life team. Employment opportunities include positions as resident assistants, desk assistants, Housing Tutors, and student maintenance workers. 

Student Government Association

The SGA serves as the official liaison between the student body and the administration. Senators and students on various committees strive to be the voice of all students and to improve the quality of campus life for all.

In addition there is a Student Trustee position which gives students the opportunity to work with MTSU’s governing board, which includes prominent alumni, community leaders, and faculty as they guide MTSU to meeting its full potential.

Student Organizations

Getting involved with student organizations is an excellent way to develop leadership skills, meet new people with similar interests, and strengthen professional, personal, and interpersonal skills.

SPARE

SPARE selects campus programs and events and works closely with talent or events to provide students with the best possible programming available.
