Welcome
Campus Planning directs the programming, design, and construction of capital projects.
This includes the development of project scopes, budgets, and schedules. The Campus
Planning and Construction Administration (CPCA) departments work with campus customers
to manage the overall capital project process. This collaborative effort includes
developing solutions for facilities that meet programmatic needs, securing appropriate
campus and university approvals, employing all professional service consultants for
the design of projects and contractors for construction and overseeing project execution.
Because of their scope and visibility, these capital projects help tell the story
of the university, whether that’s in rehabbing culturally relevant buildings through
new construction, major renovations, or deferred maintenance programming. The primary goals of all planning projects are to support the Academic Master Plan
and mission, and to support and enhance the Facility Master Plan goals. Campus Planning
also performs related support services, including development of the annual Capital
Budget Request and maintenance of facilities inventory, plans and records.
CPCA continues to coordinate with university and unit or leadership to ensure that
the various phases of active capital projects continued throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
CPCA play an essential role in the day-to-day operations of the university, but also
in large-scale planning and management..
