Events for Spring 2019

The Career Development Center will host several workshops to prepare you for life after MTSU. Many departments on campus also hold career preparation events and career fairs. These are included below.

IGNITE is a professional development program designed to increase awareness of career preparation issues, develop knowledge and skills to navigate the process of landing a professional entry level job, and instill confidence to compete for jobs in your chosen field.

All Jones College of Business majors (ACTG, BUAD, BUED, CIS, ECON, ENTR, FIN, MGMT, MKTG) are eligible to receive all benefits of taking part in the program. All students are welcome to attend IGNITE events unless noted otherwise but only College of Business majors are recognized for completing the program. Click here for the schedule.

  • Accounting Leadership Expose
    Thursday, February 21st 10:00 am - 12:00 pm - BAS S326
    Meet with accounting employers recruiting for their summer leadership programs
  • Recording Industry Management Fair
    Tuesday, February 26th Bragg Building
    Meet with employers in the Recording Industry
  • School of Agriculture Career Fair
    Wednesday, February 27th 10:00 am - 2:00 pm - Stark Agriculture Building Lobby
    The School of Agriculture is excited to host a career fair for students in the following majors: Animal Science, Agribusiness, Fermentation Science, Horse Science, Plant & Soil Science. Visit with employers looking to hire for full-time positions and internships.
  • Aerospace Career Fair
    Thursday, February 28th 9:00 am - 3:00 pm - New Science Building
    Meet with employers in the Aerospace industry. 
  • B.E.S.T
    Wednesday, March 20th 10:00 am-2:00 pm - Student Union Ballroom
    Students in the Jones College of Business are invited to meet with employers looking to recruit interns and full-time entry-level positions. To view employers visit Lightning CareerLink.
  • Criminal Justice Networking and Information Exchange
    Wednesday, March 20th 10:00 am - 2:00 pm James Union Building
    The Annual Criminal Justice Networking and Information Exchange is designed to give future professionals in Police, Courts, Corrections, and Security the opportunity to meet and converse with a variety of current professionals in those fields without the added stress of job-seeking. This is intended to be a professional networking event or meet-and-greet for area students and professionals in careers related to the criminal justice system. No resumes will be exchanged and no hiring interviews will be scheduled. Information regarding the application process is permitted.

The Career Development Center can help you prepare for events with employers. We have several infographics along with workshops that will set you up for success. You can also set up a meeting with one of our career advisors to prepare further.
