MTSU Chinese Music Ensemble
MTSU Chinese Music Ensemble is a registered course at the School of Music. The ensemble works to broaden cultural horizons by placing students in small and large ensemble settings, as well as solo settings. We perform various styles of music including folk songs, traditional Chinese compositions, original compositions, and fusions of musical styles from all over the world including bluegrass and salsa. The Ensemble is proud to have members of all backgrounds including music majors, biochemistry students, and even science professors! Local community members are welcome and encouraged to join the Ensemble as well.
Student Testimonies:
Will Childress, ensemble member for six semesters, "The Chinese Music Ensemble has changed how I see music. As well as being a great help with music theory and music history, the Ensemble is a great way to broaden cultural horizons and learn new skills to apply to your own instruments.
