Dual Enrollment Students

If you have a disability and would like to inquire about registering for services/accommodations for your MTSU courses, please contact Dual Enrollment at dualenrollment@mtsu.edu or at 615-898-5246

Once you have finished working with Dual Enrollment, Dual Enrollment will contact the Disability & Access Center (DAC).  The DAC will then proceed with the listed steps below. 

Dual Enrollment General Practices

  • DAC will review documents and ensure appropriate accommodations without fundamental alteration of the class.
  • Appropriate accommodations are displayed in letter format.
  • Grievance procedures
  • Upon graduating high school and continuing of degree at MTSU, DAC will recommend updated process of registering with office.

Dual Enrollment at a remote campus

  • DAC will contact guidance counselor.
  • DAC notifies instructors, guidance counselor, and student and provides them copies of accommodation letters.
  • Guidance Counselor and instructor arrange accommodation implementation.

Dual Enrollment on the MTSU Campus

  • DAC will contact guidance counselor.
  • DAC will set up appointment with student to discuss how to implement accommodations.
  • DAC notifies instructors, guidance counselor, and student and provides them copies of accommodation letters.
  • DAC and instructor will arrange accommodation implementation.

Dual Enrollment on MTSU Campus as a Home School Student

  • DAC will contact student.
  • Student must submit medical documentation verifying diagnosis(es).
      1. Formal documentation (typed, on letterhead, and signed by a medical professional) verifying a diagnosis(es) is required.
      2. Individual Education Plans (IEPs), 504 plans, or other documents generated by a school do not constitute sufficient documentation.
      3. Documentation may be faxed, mailed, hand delivered, or emailed.
  • DAC will set up appointment with student to discuss how to implement accommodations.
  • DAC notifies instructors and student and provides them copies of accommodation letters.
  • DAC and instructor will arrange accommodation implementation.
