The Disability & Access Center is located in Keathley University Center, room 107.  You can contact us on our office phone at 615-898-2783, by email, or by fax at 615-898-4893.

The Disability & Access Center office hours are as follows:

Prior to joining MTSU Disability and Access Center, Kevin served as Coordinator of Disability Services for Columbia State Community College for 5 years.  Kevin has obtained a Master of Science Degree in Community Counseling at Eastern Illinois University and Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation, Sports, and Tourism at University of Illinois.  Kevin enjoys seeing how students grow throughout their college experience.  Kevin’s interests are spending time with his wife and two girls, being a basketball enthusiast, and being involved in the community.

Dr. Gerald Christian

Associate Director

Dr. Christian earned a Ph.D. in Human Performance, a M.Ed. in Professional Counseling, and a B.S. degree in Psychology all at Middle Tennessee State University. He spent four years teaching at MTSU for the Health & Human Performance department. Prior to teaching he was an academic advisor at MTSU. Dr. Christian is passionate about student success, assisting students as they work on their academic goals and working towards gainful employment. Dr. Christian is dedicated to raising awareness on disability. Through research and public speaking, he strives to educate people and reduce stereotypes. He loves adaptive sport and exercise, live music, and playing Xbox.

Tori Haskins-Merritt

Coordinator of Testing

Tori is a graduate of MTSU with a major in social work. She is a member of the NASW TN Chapter. She served as a Testing Coordinator at Middle Tennessee State University for a year before moving into the role of the Coordinator of Testing.  She enjoys watching students grow and flourish within the Disability and Access Center, and loves to see students realize their potential and worth within themselves. She enjoys photography and making scrapbooks. She loves spending time with her husband and 2 dogs.

Jonathan Gregory

Manager - Adaptive Technology

Jonathan earned a Bachelor of science degree in Computer Science from Middle Tennessee State University.  Prior to joining the MTSU Disability and Access Center as the Manager of Adaptive Technology he was a Financial Aid Assistant with the Financial Aid and Scholarships department.  Jonathan enjoys helping students grow and thrive in the MTSU community and assisting them in pursuing their goals.  He enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes, reading a good book, and hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains. 

Sonya Hicks

Administrative Assistant

Sonya served as a Testing Coordinator at Middle Tennessee State University for the Disability and Access Center for 7 years before moving into a new role as Administrative Assistant in 2022.  She loves encouraging and assisting students in reaching their goals for their future.  Sonya enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 boys.  She loves her weekends working with ABLES (children and adults with disabilities) and Ripples (teaching soccer skills to 2- & 3-year-olds).

Caleb Paschall

Caleb Paschall is a graduate of MTSU and a Certified Fitness Trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association.  He is also a self-defense instructor and provides training to members of the MTSU community and the Middle Tennessee area.
