Previously, she taught middle school mathematics in Metro Nashville Public Schools for 3 years. She loves teaching mathematics, and it is her heart’s desire to make an impact on each student that walks into her classroom. At Tennessee State University, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, a Master of Science in Mathematics, and a Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.

Dr. Cobb loves teaching at MTSU and being able to reach the lives of many students through mathematics. Cobb works to give all of her students the tools needed to be successful in her mathematics courses and beyond. She teaches with so much passion and energy that her students love to come to class. Cobb has made several state and national presentations about innovative ways to teach mathematics effectively. She also serves as the co-chair of the Mathematics Network for the National Organization for Student Success (NOSS). Cobb enthusiasm and passion for the students she serves motivated her to seek funding to provide a Math Fun Night, where students participated in math games outside the classroom in a relaxed environment. Recognized for her ability to involve students in the classroom, she was invited to participate in the American Association of State Colleges and Universities’ High Impact Practices Grant. Recently, Cobb was awarded a Student Engagement, Retention, and Success Grant, for which she will serve as co-principal investigator. Cobb has a great rapport with her students and is very active in her community. Specifically, she tutors and serves on the board for multiple community organizations in Nashville and Murfreesboro. Dr. Cobb supports all students and especially seeks to be a role model to young women in her community.
