Robert Summers is the Vice Provost for International Affairs at Middle Tennessee State University.  As the Senior International Officer, Summers is responsible for providing institution-wide leadership to the international initiatives and expanding the comprehensive internationalization of the university’s mission in teaching, research and service.   He oversees the Office of International Education, the Office of International Enrollment and Services, the Center for Asian Studies, the Center for Chinese Music and Culture and the Intensive English Program.  Summers is a trained linguist who holds a PhD from the University of South Florida. He has a special interest in neo-Vyogotskian language assessment; the applications of technology to Second and Foreign Language Pedagogy and comprehensive internationalization in the academy.
