Arrangement

This small collection, comprising only .25 linear foot, is arranged according to the donor’s original order. The collection’s single box includes a large bound chronicle of the club’s history followed by a single folder entitled “Minutes 93-94.”

Biographical Note

The Murfreesboro Chapter of the Business and Professional Women’s Club was chartered January 16, 1937, to promote full participation, equity, and economic self-sufficiency for working women. In 1995, the club voted to disband due to membership disinterest in holding leadership positions.

Scope and Content

The collection contains a copy of the Chronicle compiled and written by Mary E. Bryan to detail the history of the organization. The collection also contains minutes from 1993-1994, a yearbook from 1988 – 1989, The Torch newsletter from May 1995 and December 26, 1986, and various resolutions on women’s issues.
