What is Connection Point?

The Center for Student Involvement and Leadership (CSIL) is excited that you are now part of our Blue Raider Family! At MTSU, getting involved with cocurricular activities is not simply something we recommend to new students as a good idea. Getting involved is an expectation of everyone who claims to be True Blue—it’s an important part of the True Blue Pledge!

The True Blue Pledge states, among other things, “I am engaged in the life of this community. I am a giver and a recipient.” We believe  in the value that involvement can contribute to your success, and that is why CONNECTION POINT is an important part of your first-year experience. Attending Connection Point events will also provide you with an opportunity to interact with members of your class and upper-class students in attendance.

Every incoming freshmen is expected to participate in at least four Connection Point activities during the first part of the fall semester. Make sure that Convocation on August 21 is one of the events you plan to attend, and then pick at least three more. Don’t feel compelled to stop at four events—attend as many as you like.

Connection Point events can be found on our campus life calendar at https://mtsu.edu/campuslife/events.php. Visit this calendar often as this is where you will find out if any events have changed (date, time, location, etc.) or if new events have been added.

We’re so glad you are part of the Blue Raider Family. If you have any questions about Connection Point, please feel free to contact me at 615-898-5812 or danny.kelley@mtsu.edu
