Middle Tennessee News

Middle Tennessee News provides news and educational broadcasting to Middle Tennessee State University and residents within the broadcast area. Students produce and anchor newscasts twice a week on Monday and Wednesday and contribute to the website; they can also serve as managers under the supervision of award-winning faculty. This teaching environment gives students a hands-on experience.

National Association of Black Journalists

The National Association of Black Journalists is the largest organization of journalists of color in the nation, and provides quality programs and services that advocate on behalf of black journalists worldwide. Their goal is to provide members with the opportunity to develop skills which will be useful in the professional world.

National Sports Media Association

The goal of the National Sports Media Association is to develop educational opportunities for those who are interested in pursuing a career in sports media. This student chapter helps aspiring professionals make connections with contacts in the sports media field, be it with key guest speakers who are currently employed in the field or fellow peers and individuals who share the same passion for sports media.

Public Relations Student Society of America

The PRSSA is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications. They seek to advance the public relations profession by nurturing generations of future professionals and by advocating for rigorous academic standards for public relations education, the highest ethical principles and diversity in the profession.

The PRSSA’s mission is to serve its members by enhancing their knowledge of public relations and providing access to professional development opportunities, as well as to serve the public relations profession by helping to develop highly qualified, well-prepared professionals.

Society of Professional Journalists

The Society of Professional Journalists is the nation’s most broad-based journalism organization, dedicated to encouraging the free practice of journalism and stimulating high standards of ethical behavior. Founded in 1909 as Sigma Delta Chi, the SPJ promotes the free flow of information vital to a well-informed citizenry through the daily work of its roughly 6,000 members; works to inspire and educate current and future journalists through professional development and protects First Amendment guarantees of freedom of speech and press through its advocacy efforts.
