In addition to our regular semester offerings, we understand that individual needs may vary, and we are pleased to accommodate requests for personalized professional development. Whether you need one-on-one coaching, tailored training sessions for your department, or specific guidance on integrating new tools into your courses, our team is here to support you.
The MTSU Online Profession Development Support team holds open clinics for faculty and staff to drop in and learn about a topic of their choice, or to ask questions about using D2L. No registration is required.
Self-paced Online Workshops (via D2L Self-Registration)
MTSU Online offers additional self-paced professional development through its Synchronous Instruction Standards Course (SISC). This course is designed to provide faculty already teaching synchronous online courses with important resources and strategies to maximize success. To enroll in the course, log in to D2L and click on the Self-Registration tab in the navbar. Click the Course Offering Name link — Synchronous Instruction Standards. The course will appear on your D2L home page once you have enrolled in it.
How to Use the Discover Tool
The Discover tool in D2L allows faculty to self-enroll in special courses and tutorials. To self-enroll, log in to D2L and click on the Discovery tool to see the available workshops. Click the course offering name link. The course will appear on your D2L home page once you have enrolled in it. If you do not see the Self-Registration tab in your D2L home page navbar, you can submit an ITD help desk ticket for assistance.
