By completing only a few additional courses, you can receive your online MBA degree along with a specialized concentration in one of the following: Healthcare Management, Strategic Marketing Analytics, Legal and Ethical Governance, Risk Management, Human Resource Management, Data Analytics, IT Project Management, or Music Business:
- All concentration courses and electives are available online, on-campus, or in a hybrid format.
- 3 classes (9 credit hours) are required to complete the Healthcare Management, Legal and Ethical Governance, Data Analytics, IT Project Management, and Risk Management concentrations.
- 4 classes (12 credit hours) are required to complete the Music Business, Strategic Marketing Analytics, and Human Resource Management concentrations.
- Students must decide on their concentration before starting the program and develop a degree plan with their academic advisor.
- Students may enroll in classes within your concentration any time after completing your preparatory modules.
Optional Concentrations
Data Analytics
Students who choose the Data Analytics concentration will not only acquire skills in the functional areas of business, such as accounting and finance, but also build specialized expertise in data mining, predictive analytics, and business intelligence.
Healthcare Management
The Healthcare Management concentration prepares students to confront the unique challenges that face organizations such as hospitals, insurance providers, pharmaceutical firms, and manufacturers of medical devices. The required courses in Healthcare Management and Healthcare Economics present an overview of healthcare delivery in the U.S., analyzing how strategy, finance, and regulation affect outcomes for organizations and the patients they serve. The approved elective courses offer further background in vital areas like healthcare law, public health, marketing, and resource management.
Human Resource Management
The Human Resource Management concentration will provide students with expert-level skills in the areas of talent acquisition and management. An M.B.A. with a Human Resource Management concentration will allow you to protect the interests of both your organization and its employees. It will also give students expert-level skills in the areas of talent acquisition and management.
IT Project Management
In addition to skills in the functional areas of business, such as accounting, finance, and analytics, students in the IT Project Management concentration will acquire expertise in project management specific to the Information Technology space.
Legal and Ethical Governance
The Flex M.B.A. with a Legal and Ethical Governance concentration provides students with a key foundation in the functional areas of business and specialized skills in regulatory compliance and corporate governance. A master’s in business administration from MTSU with a concentration in legal and ethical governance features courses in business ethics, legal aspects of healthcare, and managerial communications.
Music Business
To earn an M.B.A. with the Music Business concentration, students enroll in approved electives that familiarize them with some of the most important economic and legal issues that affect artists, managers, representatives, record companies, promoters, and publishers. The curriculum leads into a capstone in Applied Recording Industry Research, which requires students to design and implement their own qualitative and quantitative research projects. The music and entertainment industry has a $10 billion impact on the Nashville region’s economy.
Risk Management
By obtaining an M.B.A. with a Risk Management concentration, you’ll familiarize yourself with insurance and risk management, allowing you to better prepare your organization for lasting growth and development. Risk management protects a company’s assets and identifies liability factors. Professionals in risk management gain an understanding of procedures and policies and enforce both within their company.
Strategic Marketing Analytics
The M.B.A. with Strategic Marketing Analytics concentration prepares students to make decisions in the field in order to develop creative digital marketing campaigns, evaluate and analyze qualitative and quantitative market research, and establish effective branding strategies.
