Student Participation in Psychological Research

All students in Psychology 1410 are required to earn 5% of their grade through participation in psychological research or an equivalent written assignment. This is a class assignment, not “extra credit,” and failing to meet this assignment will lead to a penalty in your grade of up to 5%. Two options are available to you, research participation or a written report. Important: Students who are less than 18 years of age must do a written report.

Students from other psychology classes might also participate in research for extra credit in their classes. This is at the discretion of your course instructor and would be explicity listed on your syllabus. If your instructor allows for this extra credit, please refer to your course syllabus for the maximum number of credits your instructor will allow. This participant would also be through the SONA system. These other courses do not have a required minimum number of credits. Students from other courses would NOT be eligible to write and submit a written report through the research pool (your instructor may have their own version of a written report for your course, but isn't the one listed here).
