New Freshman and Transfer Students

Welcome to MTSU!

New freshmen and new transfer students should attend New to Blue Orientation, our new student orientation program, prior to registering for classes. New to Blue Orientation is an opportunity for new students to learn more about the university, meet with an academic advisor, and register for classes. Reenrolling students are not required to attend orientation, but should meet with an academic advisor to discuss what classes to take prior to registering.  To find your academic advisor based on major, visit the Academic Advising website. Reenrolling students may register during Priority Registration based on their number of earned hours.

Transient students are also not required to attend orientation to register, but may encounter some issues registering for classes with prerequisites and restrictions.  Please contact an academic advisor in the area you’ll be studying or the department offering the course you need for assistance.
