Four Blue Raiders Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee Baseball's Jeremiah BoydDJ WrightEston Snider and Jaden Hamm have all been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. 

This accolade recognizes student-athletes for their achievements on the field, in the classroom and in the community.

Boyd is a graduate student in Sports Management, with a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. On the field, the catcher and designated hitter leads the team with 12 home runs and a .973 OPS. Boyd won TSWA Player of the Week on April 24, after going a combined 5-16 in four games with four home runs against Lipscomb and Rice, and had two homers in the series-clinching win against Rice on April 23.

Wright earned his spot on the CSC team as a graduate of MTSU's Sports Management Program. Wright has also pursed a second degree in Professional Development, graduating this Spring. The first baseman has played in all but one game this season and started in all but two, and is one of three post-grad students on the roster. The Murfreesboro, Tenn. native is second on the team with five home runs and one of just two players to homer twice in a game this season.

Snider maintains a 4.0 GPA, with the sophomore majoring in Business Administration. Snider serves as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and started the season with a 12-game on-base streak. The Franklin, Tenn. native earned TSWA Player of the Week honors after going 7-8 in the series against FIU at home, having a 5-5 day at the plate in the sweep-clinching series finale.

Hamm has been one of the leaders of the Blue Raider pitching staff, leading the team in wins (5), strikeouts (83), innings pitched (71.1) and starts (13). The junior is a Business Major, and has won Tennessee Sports Writers Association Pitcher of the Week twice this season. Some of Hamm's highlights this season include a complete-game, one-hit shutout over Evansville on March 10, and a seven-inning scoreless outing at WKU on April 7.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 7.
