2023 Homecoming Director Applications

The SGA Homecoming Director will work directly with various administrative offices to coordinate the Homecoming events for students.

The Director will:

  • Provide the vision for the upcoming Homecoming Events (theme, programs, calendar)
  • Oversee all committee related meetings
  • Submit budget proposal to SGA Senate
  • Keep detailed financial records
  • Work with committee in planning, organizing, and marketing all Homecoming events for our student body.
  • Plan, host, and execute Fight Song in August 2023

Interviews will take place the week of February 20th. Sign-ups will be provided after submission of your application via email.

Interested students must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Be in good standing with the University
  • Have 45 credit hours
  • Must be a currently enrolled MTSU student
  • Commit to serve from March 2023 – December 2023 (including summer months). Applicants with the ability to serve through the Spring semester is preferred but not required.

2022 Homecoming Parade 

Join the Student Government Association and the Alumni Association in celebrating 110 years of Middle Tennessee excellence at the annual Homecoming Parade. The parade will begin on East Main Street at Maney Avenue. It will continue on East Main Street, turning left on Middle Tennessee Boulevard and ending before Greenland Drive. Best viewing will be BEFORE Faulkinberry.

2022 Paint the Halls Blue

The MTSU Homecoming’s Paint Campus Blue will promote Blue Raider Pride and school unity. All departments, facilities, and housing on campus are strongly encouraged to participate in this competitive event. Each participating site should be decorated in MTSU school colors (Royal Blue & White) and in accordance with the Homecoming Theme,“MTSU Winner’s Circle.” Sites are encouraged to decorate as much as possible (inside, outside, or around office area) in whatever manner they see best to portray MTSU pride (streamers, window chalk, banners, lights, etc.). Faculty and students may collaborate in this creative competition. Decorations should be displayed throughout the Homecoming celebration weeks.

Paint the Halls Blue Rules

2022 Sign Competition

We are going to decorate the Walnut Grove with the annual sign competition. Each group will decorate a piece of plywood and it will be placed on campus for everyone to see. We will leave the signs up for game day. This is a great and easy way to show your school spirit.

2022 The Art of Homecoming

Get ready for our first annual Commemorative Post Card Contest!  Show off your talent through the Art of Homecoming. The winner will have their artwork printed on a 5 x 7 postcard for Homecoming, so people can collect each one over the years. The artwork will be related to the Homecoming theme, “MTSU Winner’s Circle.” Be creative with your artwork!

2022 Hat Decorating Competition

When it comes to Derby Racing, big and bright hats are a necessity for the look! Each group will decorate a sun hat of their choice with ribbons, feathers, flowers, and other items that fit the criteria. These will also be displayed at the Kickoff Event for others to enjoy your creation!
