Effective course design requires teachers to begin with the end of the semester in mind. After you determine the knowledge and skills students must master by the end of your course, then you can develop assessments that allow students to demonstrate their understanding. This is Stage 2 of Wiggins and McTighe’s Understanding by Design framework. This workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to develop an assessment plan for one of their courses.
