This table should assist faculty course developers and chairs as they plan their various online courses. Some additional resources include the Registrar’s course types page, and the MTSU Online course development process.

Optional meetings or orientations such as “virtual office hours” may be offered. Students cannot be penalized for non-attendance. A good practice would be to record and share any optional virtual meetings. Review-Only == No MTSU Online course development processes apply. Course is submitted to MTSU Online for review relating to alignment with quality and best practices associated with FERPA, accessibility, and SACSCOC accreditation standards. Department is responsible for final approval.
**Synchronous (Remote) courses previously offered as Remote do not need new review.
