The MTSU College of Graduate Studies gives students a vast array of academic offerings, with more than 100 programs of study from which to choose. The College of Graduate Studies has been notified that the Department of State is currently experiencing technical problems with their visa systems.  This issue is not specific to any particular country, citizenship documents, or visa category.  This could affect your ability to schedule a visa appointment, complete a background check, or receive your visa.  Consular offices have no timeline of when they will be fully operational.

Additionally, SEVIS has planned an outage from 8pm on Friday, June 26th through 8PM on Sunday, June 28th with the possibility of a bit longer of a delay.  Students will not be able to pay their I-901 fee during this time.  Visa issuance could be affected.  If you are traveling during this time, expect long delays at U.S. ports of entry.  Students might be selected for and sent to secondary inspection, since Customs and Border officials will not have access to your immigration record.
