Americans with Disabilities Act

Middle Tennessee State University, under the guidelines of ADA and 504 federal legislation, is required to make reasonable accommodations to the known physical and mental limitations of otherwise qualified individuals with disabilities.

The ADA specifically requires that reasonable accommodations include:

  • Making existing facilities and programs readily accessible
  • Acquiring or modifying equipment or devices
  • Adjusting or modifying examinations or class schedules
  • Providing qualified support staff

To help provide the best possible service to students, staff, faculty and visitors, MTSU has an Americans with Disabilities Act office with a coordinator responsible for access for persons with disabilities. The ADA coordinator assists anyone with questions about access; provides consultation on policy reviews and facilities planning; serves as a clearing house for disability related complaints; and develops disability related initiatives.

Please contact the MTSU ADA Compliance Office at 615-898-5366 if you have questions or would like more information.
