6:30 pm to 7:30 pm - Dinner
7:30 pm - invited presentation, "How To Make Sound Move Faster Than Light*" by Dr.
Bill Robertson (*no rules of relativity will be broken in this presentation)
Saturday
7:30 am to 8:00 am - Check-in. (No breakfast, but tea/coffee and pastries will be
available)
8:00 am onwards - Oral presentations, student poster session, TAAPT AGM, Workshop
by Dr. Brian Frank* (Details will be provided when we have a better idea of how many
presentations need to be scheduled.)
*Card-Sorting Tasks Workshop by Dr. Brian Frank
In this workshop, participants will be introduced to a variety of card sorting tasks
from the introductory physics course sequence at Middle Tennessee State University.
The workshop will provide time to explore different card sorts while working with
other teachers, discuss effective implementation in the classroom, and begin work
on developing one's own card sorting task. All participants will be provided with
a card sorting task to take home, as well as online access to a large collection of
card sorting tasks.
Costs
Dinner and lunch are on us.
$10 Tennessee section fees for faculty (university and school) only, to be paid at
check-in. Students attend free.
