MTSU's proximity to the state capital provides unique opportunities for hands-on training and career placement, including paid internships with law firms and with Tennessee's Legislature. Our program has a proven history of preparing students for law school and careers in public policy through a curriculum that enriches students' understanding of not just the law, but also policymaking, politics, and social change.
Political Science Pre-Law students experience classroom learning as well as hands-on opportunities through internships, clubs, and intercollegiate academic teams. Department-supported organizations include Mock Trial, Mediation, and the Legal Studies Society. The department also offers free LSAT preparation workshops for students and sponsors speakers on political and legal topics.
